"Joulukortin" koko oikeasti 60 x 120 cm, materiaalina mm. tapetti, metallinapit ja helmet (kaikki kierrätystavaraa), tekniikkana origami. Kaikki kiinnitetty alustaansa nuppineuloilla. Tähtinauhan pituus 3 - 4 m, luulen. Tehty Nextiilin myymälän joulukoristeeksi.

Real size of this "Christmas card" is 60 x 120 cm, I used wallpaper, metal buttons, pearls and other stuff (everything is recycled) to make this. Technique is origami and every figure and button "stars" are fastened into the background with pins. Length of the star stripe is about 3 - 4 m, I believe. I made this as a Christmas decoration into Nextiili shop.

Muutama vuosi sitten ostelin nappeja kilokaupalla, tuollaiset 5 - 6 kg kerrallaan. Veljenpoika tuosta kuuli ja totesi: "Nythän sinä pystyt niillä peittämään vaikka koko seinän!". Vielä ei olla ihan siinä vaiheessa että seinää peittäisin, mutta muutama IKEA-hyllykön ovi sai kyllä osittaisen nappipäällysteen. Osittaisen sen takia ettei vihreitä nappeja riittänyt koko oven päällystämiseen. Kunkin oven koko on 32 x 32 cm, nappeja käytin ehkä tuollaiset reilut puoli kiloa.
Napeilla päällystäminen ei missään tapauksessa jää tähän. Odottakaapa vain kun pääsen vaneriostoksille, sitten päällystyksiä tulee kyllä lisää. Ai miksi vaneria? Noihin nyt päällystettyihin oviin liimasin napit suoraan oven pintaan, ja ne ovat nyt niin tiukasti kiinni ettei niitä irroiteta ilman vaurioita. On siis syytä olla ikuisesti tyytyväinen tuohon päällystykseen. Kun otan seuraavan kohteen käsittelyyn, liimaan napit ohuelle vanerilevylle jonka sitten tavalla tai toisella (ei kuitenkaan liimaamalla) kiinnitän kohteeseensa. Vanerin voi irrottaa jos kyllästyn päällystystä katselemaan.
Some years ago I used to buy buttons 5 - 6 kg at one time. My nephew heard about that and said: "Now you can cover a whole wall with buttons!". Well, not yet a whole wall this time, but some doors of an IKEA shelves got an incomplete coating with buttons. Incomplete because I had not enough green buttons to cover the whole door. Size of each door is 32 x 32 cm, buttons I needed about half a kilo.
Covering different units with buttons will continue. You just wait and see what happens after I have bought enough thin plywood! Why plywood, you might ask. Well, I used very strong glue to put those green buttons on their places, and they can not be removed without damage. So I have to be satisfied forever with those doors now. When I start next project with buttons, I'll have plywood where I'll fasten the buttons, and then I'll fasten the plywood somehow (not with glue) on it's final place. I can remove plywood anytime if I'll get bored with button covering.
Joulun odotuksen helpottamiseksi tein Nextiilissä kuusimetsän, siitä on sitten helppo oma joulupuu valita. Materiaalina erilaiset kankaat ja tapetti, taustana ilmoitustaulu, kokoa työllä on 40 x 60 cm. Kuuset tein origamityönä.
To make it easier to wait for Christmas, I made a wood of fir-trees at work in Nextiili. From there it is easy to choose which will bee your Christmas tree. To make this work I used different kind of fabrics and wallpaper, background is a message board. Size of this work is 40 x 60 cm. Fir-trees are made by origami technique.
