* 12 paria villasukkia (perussukka, lyhyt varsi, pieniä tai lasten kokoja)
* 4 kauluria
* 2 hartiahuivia (litistetty kolmio, pitkän sivun pituus 160 cm)
* 1 kaulahuivi (37 x 160 cm)

Huivit on virkattu, muut neulottu.

* Mistähän tämäkin on minulle tullut?
* Minkä ihmeen takia tämänkin olen säästänyt?

Mysteerilangatkin kyllä pääsivät joulupatatuotteisiin. Oli muuten tosi kiva tehdä näitä nopeasti valmistuvia juttuja pitkästä aikaa. Edelliseen työhöni, kaksinkertaiseen verhoon (katso edellinen päivitys), meni aikaa 5 kk. Niin, ja kaikki mallit on omasta päästä.

In the beginning of November my toe was operated, and after that the leg had to be kept high every time it only was possible. My mother told me about her charity works, and I decided to start a charity project, too, by making some soft things for Salvation Army. In two weeks I made quite a lot of soft items:

* 12 pairs of wool socks (ankle length, basic model, small or children sizes)
* 4 collars
* 2 shawls (flatten triangles, length of the long side 160 cm)
* 1 scarf (37 x 160 cm)

Scarf ans shawls are made by crochet, others I knitted. I used 1,8 kg yarn for these. Usually I remember all of my yarns, where have I bought them and why, but while I choose yarns into my project, I found some mystery yarns which caused following questions:

* When have I bought these yarns and why?
* What on Earth did I think about when I bought this yarn*
* Can I use this yarn into this project or for what purpose someone has given it?
* I wonder from where has this come?
* Why have I saved this one?

The mystery yarns ended into this project, too. It was really fun to make these quick items after making my double layer curtain for more than 5 months (see previous update). And all of these models are my own design.

Kaksinkertainen virkattu verho - A double layer crocheted curtain

Sivuverhon osuus on 40 x 170 cm, kappa 53 x 140 cm, painoa n. 1,6 kg. Kumpikin kerros on virkattu kakkosen koukulla, kerrokset yhdistelty käyttäen koukkuja 4 ja 5. Valkoinen kerros on 100 % pellavaa, vihreässä kerroksessa kalalanka ja ohut pellavalanka. Malli ihan omasta päästä. Jos joku haluaa samalla tekniikalla tehdä verhon, suosittelen käyttämään molemmissa kerroksissa samaa materiaalia.

At first I was supposed to crochet a dark green curtain into my country house. However, I could not find enough green yarn (even though I was sure that I had bought it 3 rolls), and because of that I had to change my plans. I decided to make a double layer curtain, and I started with the white layer, then the green one and then connect both layers. The long curtain is 40 x 170 cm, the one which comes above the window is 53 x 140 cm, weight is about 1,6 kg. I made the layers with hook number 2 and connected layers with hooks number 4 and 5. White layer is 100 % linen, green layer has one yarn cotton and one yarn linen. I designed this model myself. If someone wants to make a curtain with same technique, I recommend to use the same material with both layers.

Joulu tulee! - Chrismas is coming!

It is two months until it is Christmas, but Christmas sales have already started. I make my Christmas cards myself, here some of the ones I made last year. Origami cards which can be opened, pictures from magazines. Recycle also here!

Verhot vanhoista farkkupaidoista - Curtains made of old jeans shirts

Pitkä verho on n. 70 x 235 cm, kappa n. 40 x 490 cm.

Obsessed in jeans, jeans fabrics and recycle, I could not resist making curtains out of jeans. Here I used old jeans shirts which recycle center did not accept for sale (thank you Nextiili!), lining is made of old sheet and larger leftover pieces of previous quilt works. I designed this all by myself. I love these!

Pictures have been taken with mobile phone's camera, not the best possible ones, but I believe the idea can be found. Long curtain is about 70 x 235 cm, the narrow one is about 40 x 490 cm.

Kapan loppupää, koko verhojuttu ei riittävän hyvin mahtunut kerralla kuvaan.
The rest of the narrow curtain, the whole system was too long to fit well enough in one picture.

Kenkien tuunausta - Pimping my shoes

My old shoes started to look out really old and worn out. But because they were really, really comfortable, I could not throw them away. That's why I decided to try my friend Archie's tip to paint my shoes with acrylic colors and afterwards they looked almost like new ones. A layer of colorless shoe polish makes the paint stay better. Both pair of shoes have been in use after painting and the color is still like new.
